High Trail of the Carassino Valley
A beautiful route that runs entirely on the west ridge of the Carassino Valley leading to the Adula CAS Hut which is well-equipped for the 150th anniversary of the CAS Ticino chapter.
The route starts from the Compietto Dam at the mouth of the Carassino Valley and, following the white-blue trail signs, leads up to the ridge, touches some peaks and then descends to the Adula Hut. A difficult trail, yet never mundane, it has some exposed passages and difficult rocky climbs, equipped with metal ropes, rungs and footholds. Difficulty T5 and T6. The return trip is via the Carassino Valley dirt road. The trail is accessible from both directions.
